Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Cheltenham

2.20: Hereditary Rule

The pair at the top of the weights have plenty going for them and preference is for Hereditary Rule, who looks a natural chaser and can enhance an already excellent record over fences. Pull Again Green, third here last month, is clear second choice, ahead of the reliable Railway Hurricane and the only chasing debutant in the line-up, Unanswered Prayers. Milanford carries risks after a layoff but his early promise should not be forgotten.
Richard O'Brien

Dundalk

5.15: Hodd's Girl

Adam Caffrey provides good value for his claim and Hodd's Girl can maintain the good run of form she has enjoyed since joining this stable. The three McAuley runners performed creditably in a claimer here on Wednesday and Tai Sing Yeh may again prove best of the group. Little Queenie lacks a recent run but is worth considering.
Alan Sweetman

Newcastle

3.50: Khabib

This is a step up in class for Our Absent Friends but he did look good over course and distance on his penultimate start and isn't exposed just yet. High Velocity is better than he showed at Chelmsford last time but Khabib is developing an excellent record in 5f all-weather handicaps and he may well be able to follow up his latest Southwell win.

Southwell

3.05: Symbolic Spirit

Interesting mare Symbolic Spirit is taken to defy top weight on her handicap debut. She has shown ability this season and, judged on breeding, has the potential to progress well beyond her opening mark. Well Done Dani, whose turn may be near, is second choice ahead of potential improver Talk Of The Moon. Consistent Encashment should be thereabouts again.
Steve Boow

Wolverhampton

8.30: City Escape

Although this trip looks right on the limit of his stamina, Inexplicable still holds claims at a track he handles so well, while Little Ted (second choice) is another to consider having dropped 2lb below his last winning mark. However, the selection is City Escape, who has winning form over course and distance and ran well back from a break over nearly a furlong shorter here 13 days ago, shaping as though the return to this trip would suit.
