Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's eight meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Doncaster

8.05: Wholeofthemoon

This can go to Wholeofthemoon (nap), who was a clear second behind a useful odds-on rival at Kempton on his return last month and is open more progress at this new trip on his handicap debut. Polyphonic has shown plenty of promise in his four novice runs and he's feared most, ahead of another handicap newcomer in Levitate.
David Moon

Haydock

2.05: Alrehb

The very lightly raced five-year-old Alrehb (nap) is swiftly making up for lost time and this well-bred sort is taken to complete a hat-trick on his turf debut. Silver Samurai is second choice having been short-headed on last month's reappearance, while Mehmento and Boardman also arrive on the back of good runs.
Ben Hutton

Leicester

2.10: Achnamara

The Johnston stable has won two of the last four runnings of this race and in Achnamara (nap) they have another solid candidate. He was impressive at Wolverhampton last time and, if he's just as effective on turf as the all-weather, he may well follow up. Salvator Mundi, a son of Galileo, is unexposed and looks a big danger, while Last Ammo and Deciduous, from the bang-in-form Charlie Appleby yard, have untapped potential too.
Richard O'Brien

Limerick

3.55: Admiralty Place

Admiralty Place (nap) should take plenty of beating here. He has evidently been difficult to train but looks more than good enough to win a maiden in which Needle Lace, Yester, Maristella and Manwal all boast place credentials.
Johnny Ward

Navan

5.21: Derrinlaur

This involves a renewal of rivalry between several who clashed here late last month. Runner-up Derrinlaur (nap) may get the better of the winner Scott Lang and third-placed Female Approach. Recent hurdles winner Rich Belief could feature, and Buckman Tavern will appreciate this greater test of stamina after starting the season with a 1m2f run at Leopardstown. Acleanpairofhooves is sure to stay and is also of interest.
Alan Sweetman

Ripon

4.00: Bedford Flyer

Ava Go Joe improved to win at Beverley on his reappearance and he is respected despite the stiffer opposition. Ey Up It's Maggie (second choice) has run well twice this year already but this can fall to Bedford Flyer(nap). Les Eyre's 4yo is tough to catch on his day and there were plenty of positives to glean from his return to action at Lingfield three weeks ago.
Paul Smith

Sandown

3.32: Kitty's Light

Armed with a 12lb pull and the possible benefit of cheekpieces, Kitty's Light (nap) could well reverse Scottish National placings with stablemate Win My Wings and gain compensation for not being awarded this race last year when just a whisker behind Potterman who ended up getting the prize after the selection-hampering Enrilo was demoted to third. Win My Wings (second choice) was impressive at Ayr and still commands respect, while Potterman and Enrilo are likely to be thereabouts again. Hat-trick seekers Flegmatik and Musical Slave are likely players provided they stay the trip.
Steve Boow

Wolverhampton

5.45: Soyounique

The six-time course winner Peachey Carnehan should make his presence felt off a favourable mark, but preference is for Soyounique (nap). The 5yo didn't run very well over 6f at Lingfield on Wednesday but is likely to be suited by the return to this longer trip. Tell'em Nowt, Creek Harbour and Defilade have either dropped to their last winning mark or just below it, so are worth a second look on that score.
