Mythmaker backers are made to sweat

Gaval disappointed backers at a low of 1.09 in running on Betfair when narrowly denied by Wediddodontwe in the 6f maiden at Thirsk. The 11-4 winner had touched a high of 12 and hit the front on the line.

The 11-8 favourite Free At Last touched 1.37 when in front, but found little and came third.

More than £13,000 was matched at 1.02 on Mythmaker when he passed the post in front in the 6f handicap, but backers were made to sweat when he drifted to 1.44 to keep the race in the stewards’ inquiry betting.
