Mr Jim cashes in on Code Of Law carnage

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

>>There was drama in the 2m3½f handicap chase at Plumpton when 4-5 market leader Code Of Law, who was travelling well in front and had touched 1.5 in running on Betfair, cannoned into 9-4 second favourite Kayflin, causing both runners to unseat their rider at the ninth fence.

That let in Mr Jim to score by 23 lengths at 9-1 from fellow outsider Goring Two in second.

That was the last leg of the Placepot and took out 720.90 of the remaining 858.08 tickets, meaning that just 137.15 units shared the pool of £53,261, for a dividend that paid £388.30.
