Monday bets: our experts give their best selections of the day

Handicappers' nap

Tai Sing Yeh (2.00 Ayr)

Already a winner over course and distance this year and latest solid effort at Naas reads very well at this level. Big chance in an ordinary race.

Eyecatcher

Two Bids (8.20 Windsor)

Made his debut on a tricky surface and produced a fair effort. He's bred to be smart and won't be too long in winning.

Newmarket nap

Platform Nineteen (5.55 Beverley, nap)

Has been earmarked for this contest ever since finishing runner-up to the since prolific Champagne Marengo at Catterick last month. Michael Bell's chestnut has thrived since.
David Milnes

Irish Angle

Takeachancejimmy (7.10 Ballinrobe)

Twice a winner over shorter trips, the Nigel Slevin-trained five-year-old appeals over an 1m1½f following a good effort on his most recent start at Bellewstown when he was beaten a head. He gets the vote to score under good 5lb claimer Andy Slattery.
Tony O'Hehir

Ace Tipster

Glasses Up (4.45 Ayr)

Beaten six lengths by Asian Angel last month but now a massive 22lb better off. Three-time course-and-distance winner must go close having dropped to a tempting mark.

Speed Figures

Brutalab (9.00 Beverley)

Yet to win a race from seven attempts but judged on his effort over course and distance six days ago, an elusive first success looks on the cards.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Birdcage Walk (7.50 Windsor)

Showed plenty of promise in three runs over a mile (all on good) before off the mark on handicap debut at Nottingham (1m2f, heavy); profile suggests further progress is likely, so leading player up 5lb.
Mel Cullinan

Dark horse

Epona (3.05 Ayr)

Finished last of nine over an inadequate 5f last time and will be better suited to the return to 7f. Her only previous win came at the track, where she boasts form figures of 123, and she looks weighted to go close once more.
Ben Harris

Must-have stat of the day

Penny Out (8.40 Ballinrobe)

Trainer John Kiely has been selective with the horses he's sent to Ballinrobe on the Flat, with the trainer sending just two to the track since start of 2018. Both of those won and he bids to make it three in a row with Penny Out in the 8.40.
