Maurice makes sense with question marks against the rest
No.8
Eddiemaurice
3.55 Ascot
1pt each-way 7-1 generally
With nine runners the concluding handicap hurdle at Ascot looks to have a good each-way angle to it and Eddiemaurice could be the value with Aidan Coleman booked.
The five-year-old, rated 74 on the Flat, has been a steady improver over hurdles of late. He put up a personal best over the smaller obstacles in May when second to Wolftrap at Worcester (the pair 14 lengths clear) and followed up on that effort with victories at Ffos Las and Worcester.
Last time at Cheltenham he ran well again when fourth behind top three-year-old Cliffs Of Dover - form which looks decent enough - and Eddiemaurice can go close again providing the ground's not too soft, although his two tries on heavy were respectable.
