Ludlow Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with two lines for the Shropshire venue

There are quite a few hot favourites at Ludlow and most of them should be placed. With that in mind, it might be worth keeping the perm small and opting for a slightly bigger stake.

The 2m5½f handicap hurdle (12.15) is confined to female amateurs and Lucy Turner is one of the best in the race. She takes the ride on Green Book, who will be short but should be placed.

Only four go to post in the following 2m4f novice handicap chase (12.45) and the winner will be needed. Luckily, Minella Trump is a winning machine and is expected to get the job done.

Miss Fairfax is one of the best bets of the day in the 2m5½f mares’ novice hurdle (1.15). She was second to a smart type at Leicester last time and can strike for Hughie Morrison.

Only seven go in the 2m handicap chase (1.45) and just two places are on offer. In a trappy race it may be worth playing both last-time-out winners, Not Available and Rockstar Ronnie.

Dublin Four should relish the step back up in trip in the 3m handicap chase (2.15) and is another banker, while Balco Coastal looks sure to be placed in the 2m novice hurdle (2.45),
