Kempton Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway sticks to a small perm for Monday's card

There aren’t many runners at Kempton but the lack of places on offer may help the dividend.

The market might prove the best guide to the opening 5f novice (1.45), as only Graftonat has had a run and it’s hard to know where we stand with the newcomers. Go with the favourite and also include the Sean Woods-trained Meng Tian, who is partnered by James Doyle.

Only five have been declared for the 5f handicap (2.20), so it’s worth including two. Lihou runs well in small-field races like this, while Blue De Vega comes into it in good form.

The winner is needed in the fillies’ conditions race (2.55), and Kestenna looks solid.

Mostahdaf will be hard to beat in the colts' equivalent (3.30), but it’s also worth putting King Zain into the perm. He has a bit to find but is trained by the in-form Mark Johnston.

The consistent Lavender’s Blue should make the places in the fillies’ Listed event (4.02), while Postileo is an improving stayer who rates banker material in the Queen’s Prize (4.35).
