Kelso Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his perm for the Scottish track

Kelso is the best of the jumps fixtures on Friday provided it passes its morning inspection and that is the course for a Placepot.

The opening 2m6½f handicap hurdle (1.00) is a wide-open race. Goodtimes Badtimes has been in good form and looks like a solid option, but it's also worth putting in Return Fire.

The 2m novice hurdle (1.30) looks like a match between Escapeandevade and Grey Skies. It's likely both will be placed and there is little point in choosing. Put both of them into the perm.

Mcgowan's Pass rarely runs a bad race and should go well again in the 2m handicap hurdle (2.00). Only two places are on offer, though, so put Word Has It in for some insurance.

The winner will be needed in the 2m7½f novice handicap chase (2.30). The hat-trick seeking Sounds Russian is the obvious pick, but Bushypark and Hold The Note also go in.

Bankers are going to be needed in the last two races to keep the perm down. Pay The Piper is one of my best bets of the day and rates the pick for the 2m5½f handicap chase (3.05), while Jett will be long odds-on for the 2m7½f hunters' chase (3.35) and can outclass his rivals.
