Joanna primed to bounce back

This filly is enjoying a good season and is bidding to win her third race of the the year. Her first came at Nottingham in May and her second at Thirsk in early July when running off a mark 7lb higher.

She was progressing along nicely but then the next time she was seen she ran a shocker and was beaten more than 16 lengths at Doncaster. Something was clearly amiss with her that day, with trainer Richard Guest's horses falling victim to a bug around that time, and she wasn't seen out for nearly two months when running as if in need of the run when down the field at Newcastle.

Having come on for that latest race, a good run is on the cards today particularly as she is suited by 5f on soft ground and is in a race in which most of the runners are hard to win with.
