An August Flat card at Navan belongs strictly at the hen's teeth level of the unusual – a product, of course, of the abandonment of Flat racing at Wexford, but with a level of entry that means it's probably here to stay.

Any money to be made looks likely to be made early in the day.

The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden (2.05) looks a strong heat with progressive fillies Alphabet and Blitz, along with the promising Evies Wish, helping to set a strong standard, but the one to beat looks likely to be Hunaina.
