Whenever racing fans discuss their favourite horses, for some reason Sakhee – a brilliant winner of the Arc in 2001 – rarely seems to get much of a mention.

The subject of favourite horses was popular on Twitter a few weeks ago, but from the hundreds of people to declare their chosen few, poor old Sakhee picked up just three votes.

This is where I should probably confess he was missing from my list as well despite me naming eight horses!
