In-form trainer can land another success in Ascot handicap

No. 13

4.45 Ascot
1pt win at 10-1 generallyJim Goldie obviously has his horses in good nick and he might be able to pull of a third in this ladies race since 2007 courtesy of Tommy G.

When stepped up to 7f for the first time since his maiden days at Ayr in May, Tommy G ran out a comfortable length winner and was really strong at the finish, so it was surprising to see him dropped back to 5-6f for his next five starts.

He is a bit in and out, but when he ran well he was routinely doing all his best work at the finish and I'd be keen to forgive him his run back at 7f last time as that was in the Silver Bunbury Cup against some seriously good handicappers.
