As with the 2,000 Guineas, the figures are notably tight for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas, with just 2lb covering the top six in the rankings on Racing Post Ratings. With that in mind, and the fact that no filly has yet shown a level of form comparable with an average 1,000 Guineas winner, Clemmie looks pretty short at the head of the market.

Wild Illusion shares top spot on RPRs, but there's less substance to her soft ground win in the Prix Marcel Boussac and Clemmie's stablemates September, Happily and Magical look likelier dangers.

September was unlucky not to overhaul Laurens after trouble in running in the Fillies' Mile over the Guineas course and distance last October and looks sure to do better again this year. She'd previously finished behind both Happily and Magical in the Debutante and Moyglare Stud Stakes and there's little between the trio on their juvenile form.
