From 8lb out of the handicap Sonaiyla wouldn't be an obvious choice to win the Volvo Cars Summer Fillies Handicap (4.50) at the Curragh but it looks like Mick Halford has had this race in mind for her for some time and the form of her 6f maiden win at this track has worked out well.

The time of that win was good and the step up to 7f on decent ground is just what she needs. With a good claimer taking 7lb off, she is confidently expected to leave her previous form well behind.
