Huntingdon Placepot tips: Richard Birch with a small perm for the jumps meeting

A decent Huntingdon card kicks off with a mares’ novice hurdle (12.30), and Theatre Glory and Chosen Port are the two for Placepot purposes.

Theatre Glory won nicely at Worcester in May, while any runner Olly Murphy sends to the races at present merits maximum consideration.

Rafferty and Begoodtoyourself, first and second at Market Rasen last time, can fight out the finish of the novice handicap chase (1.00), although not necessarily in the same order.

Cabot Cliffs will be hard to beat with an uncontested lead in the 2m handicap hurdle (1.30), but don’t dismiss Takeit Easy from the in-form Pam Sly stable.

Kilfilum Cross, rated 142 a year ago, competes off just 127 in the veterans’ handicap chase (2.00) and should be hard to beat after a wind operation.

Mr Yeats, who is only 3lb higher than when a decisive winner at Wincanton last month, makes plenty of appeal for the bang-in-form Milton Harris in division one of the 2m4f handicap hurdle (2.30).

The Rutland Rebel, so disappointing on his last visit to Huntingdon, can make amends by landing division two (3.00) in first-time cheekpieces.
