Hong Kong racing tips: Jim McGrath with three fancies at Sha Tin on Sunday

It is always worth noting when Ryan Moore picks up additional rides on Hong Kong’s international card at Sha Tin, which thrusts the Frankie Lor-trained Sauvestre under the spotlight in the closing Class 3 7f handicap (9.50).
Sauvestre has shaped with promise in his three starts locally, finishing second over course and distance last start, while prior to export he won for Chris Waller in Sydney and ran as a longshot for the stable in the prestigious Golden Rose.
Lor has fitted a tongue-tie for the first time, which is significant. So, too, is the booking of Moore. The obvious danger is topweight Packing Victory, who went up 3lb in the handicap for a narrow second last time, which makes his task harder, particularly from a wide draw (12).
Zac Purton rode Sauvestre on his most recent start, but he has remained loyal to Packing Victory, which is understandable, although he would not have known the draw when booked.
The four international features house two standouts, Golden Sixty in the Mile (7.50) and Loves Only You (8.30) in the Cup, but the best value is provided by Resistencia, who lines up in the Sprint (6.40), over 6f, with Christophe Soumillon in the saddle.
This classy Japanese four-year-old progressed from champion juvenile filly to being Guineas-placed, and now appears to have found her niche dropping back to sprints. Soumillon is unlikely to take any prisoners in the helter skelter to the first turn and she should do the rest.
Courier Wonder is up and coming and has a far better chance at level weights in this company than his rating might suggest, while Wellington fared badly at the draw (11) and Alexis Badel will have his work cut out to get an early position.
Badel appears to have a better chance on the Manfred Man-trained Trillion Win in the Class 2 6f sprint handicap (7.15), in which the gelding attempts to make it four successive wins in this grade, although his latest is technically half a win as he dead-heated.
California Spangle is classy and going the right way, so he should be included in multiples in one of the strongest races on the support card.
