Now 10lb higher than when recording breakthrough success at the ninth attempt over Warwick’s 3m1f last month. This softer ground is an unknown and that wasn’t much of a race. Only a six-year-old, though, and could be mildly progressive.

Conclusion Warwick runner-up Dontminddboys has won since, but there are feasible alternatives in Greyed A and Staunton. I’ll take him on.
