'He's improving all the time' - trainers on their big-race plans

William Haggas, trainer of Addeybb, Alenquer, Dubai Honour and Hamish
Alenquer seems fine after the Coral-Eclipse but he needs soft ground, so he'll stay in the King George but won't run unless it's soft. I wouldn't run him on fast ground again after Sandown. Dubai Honour is another we'd want soft ground for. He was in at France last Sunday but didn't run due to ground. Addeybb would also want more rain to come but I wouldn't mind running him at a mile and a half for the first time. I want to run Hamish at Newmarket then York but if the ground is dry he can't go. He is absolutely ready to run and if it came up soft at Ascot he'd definitely go. I've been hoping for rain for three months and if the ground was soft to heavy all four may run.
Bruce Raymond, racing manager for Saaed Suhail, owner of Desert Crown
Desert Crown is back in good form and will work on Wednesday morning. We're very happy with him and all is on song. I don't want to be blase but I think they've all got this horse to beat. That's my opinion and I'm a bit biased, but I think he's a very good horse and I'm hoping he can be exceptional. Who can tell though until he loses his first race? But it's going to take a very smart one to beat him. Desert Crown is straightforward, that seems to be the good thing about him. A lot of very good horses have their quirks but I believe you could do anything with him in a race, that's why he's special.
John Gosden, joint-trainer of Emily Upjohn and Mishriff
I was very happy with Emily Upjohn's work on the July course this morning, which was on beautiful ground, and she is pointing towards the Irish Oaks. It was nice to get her back on grass and we knew the Japanese horse was coming here to work so we just thought we’d hang on his coat tails. Mishriff ran well at Sandown to be second in the Eclipse and has come out of that in great shape. He's very much under consideration for the King George.
