European-trained runners are thin on the ground in the Lexus Melbourne Cup (4.00am, Tuesday) at Flemington but there are plenty of ex-European runners in the field and I think one of them, Floating Artist, could cause a bit of an upset.

Floating Artist was rated 105 when trained by Richard Hannon and one of his best runs came when fifth off near enough topweight in the Copper Horse Handicap over 1m6f at Royal Ascot in 2020.
