'He'll have to fall not to hit the frame' - Tom Segal's Carlisle Placepot perm
Carlisle is undoubtedly one of the very best jumps tracks in the country and, while there isn't an Imperial Aura or a Lostintranslation in action this time, there are once again plenty of interesting horses on the card.
To start with there is the high-class Flat performer Sextant, who makes his debut over hurdles in the opening novice hurdle (12.00). He will have to fall to not hit the frame.
The maiden hurdle (1.05) is not a good race at all and the recent point-to-point winner Gallopongray doesn't have much to beat, while the other banker has to be Looksnowtlikebrian in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap Chase (2.40).
Tim Vaughan had a winner at Cheltenham on Friday and Looksnowtlikebrian always goes well at Carlisle.
The other three handicaps are where things get tougher and the novices' handicap chase (12.35) is an especially difficult Placepot race.
Bingo D'Olivate's previous attempts at chasing haven't gone well but he likes this track and he shaped well on his comeback run over hurdles. He would be the main hope but it's worth sticking in Wise Coco as well.
She's never run well at Musselburgh, which might be the reason for her poor effort last time, but she had been pretty consistent before that.
The best race is probably the Like Racing TV On Facebook Handicap Chase (1.35) and with the Kerry Lee team in such good form Town Parks is going to be hard to keep out of the frame after his Hereford win.
However, he probably isn't as well handicapped as Jonniesofa, who goes well fresh and has conditions exactly as he'd like them.
Finally, Ask Dillon has form in some of the better staying handicap hurdles including when fourth to Main Fact at Haydock last time and he has to go well in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (2.10).
Captain Zebo will be popular but he has to prove his stamina so I would back Ask Dillon up with Chapel Stile, who likes the track and is a strong stayer.
