Haydock Placepot tips: Paul Kealy provides his perm for a cracking big-race card

A Placepot perm at Haydock looks enticing enough as you can go with confident bankers in the first two legs and then attack the last four races with some coverage.

It's surprising hasn't yet been stepped up further in class as he looks one of Charlie Appleby's best two-year-olds and I thought he'd be even shorter than 1-2 (opened 8-13) for the opener (1.15).

He looks a banker, as does (1.45). He has been beaten at short odds on his last three starts so is not one to back, but he's yet to finish out of the first two and hopefully there will still be three places on offer by race time.

is the main fancy in the next (2.20), but I'll also add Melrose third and , who ran well here when last seen. His trainer is profitable to follow with horses in first-time blinkers.

In the Old Borough Cup (2.55) I'm going with , and last year's winner , who is 3lb lower this time around.

I'm pretty confident will put up a big show in the Sprint Cup (3.30), while last year's winner and the unexposed would be my other two.

There are three horses I've been backing in sprints lately running in the final leg (4.05), and if one of , and doesn't hit the frame I'll have to think about giving up with this type of race!
