The most talented horse running anywhere today is undoubtedly Free Expression and here's hoping victory in the 2m6f beginners' chase (1.55) can lay the foundations for a successful season.

The roll of honour in that race includes Harbour Pilot, China Rock, Jessies Dream, Last Instalment, Don Cossack and Very Wood, so it usually takes a very good one to win it.

Free Expression could develop into a Grade 1 performer but it is about time he started to show what he is made of.
