Harleys Max can motor to victory at beloved Musselburgh
The horses-for-courses theory is often underplayed by pundits, but I am adamant Harleys Max is a better performer round Musselburgh than anywhere else and will be backing him to prove it in the Racing UK in Stunning HD Handicap Chase (3.20).
Significantly, in terms of this bet, the seven-year-old ran an absolute blinder to finish runner-up to the prolific Formidableopponent on his latest start at Ayr, which suggests he could produce a career-best effort now back at his favourite venue.
A confirmed hold-up performer who responds extremely well to patient tactics, Harleys Max got to the front plenty soon enough last time out, but there was little his regular rider James Corbett could do about it as the gelding was travelling so strongly towards the end of the back straight.
