Friday's free racing tips: our experts give their best selections of the day

Handicappers' nap

Raydiance (3.10 Ascot)

Course-and-distance winner as a two-year-old on soft ground. Sound claims on the pick of this year's form and should go close under his top amateur.
Simon Turner

Newmarket nap

Almania (2.35 Ascot)

Has run some good races in defeat this season and blew out well for this on the Limekilns on Tuesday.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

My Amigo (8.30 Southwell)

He gamely stuck to his task at Chelmsford last time and was the last to be run down by the unexposed winner. Running without his usual tongue-tie, it was a likeable effort from the six-year-old, whose last win came off 77 in August 2018. He's now rated 67.

Irish Angle

Edification (8.45 Dundalk)

An eyecatcher on his most recent start when finishing well for fourth in a 1m5f premier handicap at Leopardstown last month, the Mark Fahey-trained six-year-old has scored over shorter at this track and Ronan Whelan's mount gets the vote to achieve a fifth career win.
Tony O'Hehir

Ace Tipster

Orioninverness (4.35 Hexham)

Not the best jumper, but that has rarely held him back over these soft fences and he's improved since last running here 18 months ago. Yard have had a few winners of late, including a couple after a break.
Keith Melrose

Speed Figures

Platform Nineteen (3.45 Ascot)

Has made giant strides since upped in trip and looks poised to complete a sparkling five-timer.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Raydiance (3.10 Ascot)

Prominent-racer who arrives on the back of creditable efforts in handicaps at Redcar and Ayr (both good) on his last two starts. He was a Listed winner over course and distance on soft as a juvenile and has leading claims under Simon Walker with ground conditions in his favour.
Andrew Sheret

Dark horse

Almania (2.35 Ascot)

Been struggling in handicaps recently but this race might be more suitable off level weights. He started his season running in the Dante so trainer Sir Micheal Stoute must think highly of him. Ryan Moore is booked to ride for the first time this season.
Sam Hardy

Must-have stat of the day

Three-year-olds have won six of the last ten runnings of the 3.45 at Ascot, a 2m handicap for horses rated 0-95, from just 20 to take part. Older horses are 4-85 in that period so one of the three three-year-olds should be favoured in this, with Platform Nineteen preferred to Laafy and Landa Beach.
