Friday's free racing tips: insight from Racing Post's team of experts

Handicappers' nap

Crossley Tender (1.30 Exeter)

In the form of his life and again switches back to hurdles after a smooth success over fences off today's mark at the track last month. Looks very well treated.
Steve Mason

Ace tipster

Darebin (1.15 Sandown)

Chasing form figures at the track read 314152334 and he beat the now 150-rated Capeland over this course and distance in January off a 10lb higher mark. Usually takes a few runs to get fully fit and Jamie Moore is back in the saddle, so expect him to outrun his price.
Maddy Playle

Speed figures

King Of The South (3.10 Newcastle)

Had a bit in reserve when opening his account over course and distance last month and this lightly raced three-year-old may still be ahead of his revised mark.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Fortamour (5.15 Newcastle)

A dual 7f winner here who improved on turf in the summer, notably when overcoming traffic to get up late at Ascot in September. Subsequent defeat on heavy ground easy to excuse and he's just 1lb higher than for his Ascot victory.
Paul Smith

Dark horse

Quartz Du Rheu (1.50 Sandown)

Only his second run for trainer Jonjo O'Neill and should improve from the first run. Potentially well handicapped if he can reproduce some of his hurdle form from last season when he was given a mark of 137 for trainer Willie Mullins.
Sam Hardy
