Newcastle Placepot picks: Graeme Rodway with his selections for a £100,000 pool

The Tote’s £100,000 guaranteed pool is at Newcastle, so it makes sense to play the bet there.

There should be three places on offer in the opening 1m4½f handicap (4.30) and it looks worth making Trailblazer a banker. He has solid form at this course and is a consistent type.

Just two places will be available for the following mile handicap (5.05), so it’s worth putting a couple into the perm. Martin’s Brig is the solid option, but End Zone should also be included.

There is another small field for the mile handicap (5.40), but Mint Edition looked good when scoring over course and distance two weeks ago and is capable of following up that success.

The mile novice (6.15) looks like another trappy contest. It might be worth taking on the likely favourite Latest Edition with possible improvers Parish Councillor and Flash Bardot.

Hello Me likes this track and could go well in the 6f handicap (6.45), while in the first division of the following 6f handicap (7.15) it’s worth siding with Enderman and Mutabaahy.
