Ayr Placepot picks: Phill Anderson has two bankers in his perm

There are just the six runners in the first leg (12.45) of the Ayr Placepot, which is guaranteed for £100,000, but Irish raider Jackpot De Choisel rates banker material. A €200,000 purchase last summer, he sets a solid standard after finishing a close-up third at Fairyhouse on his debut.

It will be hard to keep Rocco Storm out of the frame in the 2m½f handicap chase (1.17) as he bids for a fourth win in five starts. Recent course-and-distance winner Netywell gets his ground again and should be involved despite a 7lb rise.

Dual course winner Gold Cup Bailly relished similar conditions over course and distance last time and can maintain his unbeaten record over fences in the 3m novice handicap chase (1.50). Famous Bridge is the main danger after an encouraging chase debut last time.

Aazza was an impressive wide-margin winner last time and could be hard to beat in the 3m½f mares’ handicap hurdle (2.25) despite a 13lb rise in weights. Lady Tremaine looks like a potential improver stepping up in trip.

Rebecca Menzies has her horses in good form and High Moon showed he handled testing ground when runner-up at this venue last time out. He should make the first three in the 2m5½f handicap chase (3.00).

The 2m novice handicap hurdle (3.35) looks competitive, but Fia Fuinidh and One Mill Harbour both handle testing ground and have course form to their name.
