Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Ayr
3.00: Donna's Double
The lightly raced 7yo Donna's Double won here last time on his second start over fences and could be just the type of Sandy Thomson-trained chaser to keep on improving. High Moon was second in that race and is respected but bigger threats could come from Grand Voyage (second choice), who remains open to improvement, and Uncle Alastair.
Ben Hutton
Dundalk
1.42: Gracesolution
Twice a winner on good ground on turf, Gracesolution has been edging closer to a first AW success and is tipped to reverse form with Bambeano who beat her narrowly on her penultimate start. Oranmore and Chutzpal may also get involved.
Alan Sweetman
Exeter
1.00: Lime Drop
Several of these warrant a close look but top of the list is Lime Drop, who did very well last season, comes here after a good effort at Newbury and may yet have a bit more improvement to come. Pleasant Man is open to significant improvement on today's handicap hurdle debut and feared most. Colonial Empire looked in excellent nick at Ffos Las six weeks ago and also makes significant appeal.
Chris Wilson
Kempton
7.00: Positive
Imperial Sands was given a fine ride when beating a few of these rivals over C&D last month, slowing the pace mid-race and then kicking clear 2f from home. Pulling off those tactics a second time might be harder but he still looks more persuasive than many. Noisy Night (second choice) has to prove his stamina for 1m but he is 3-3 at the track and considered seriously. Baldomero and Via Serendipity can go well but topweight Positive still has some handicapping scope despite a 2lb rise for his latest Wolverhampton success and he can come out on top.
Paul Smith
Leicester
3.10: Moonlighter
Most of these have something to prove but a second wind operation did the trick for Moonlighter when he justified support with a game front-running win at Chepstow last month. He's 4lb higher on this step back up in grade but remains very well treated on his old form and may well be able to strike again. The main threat could come from Go Steady, who made it 6-15 over fences when scoring at Lingfield in December and had an excuse when stepped back up to 3m last time. Another to consider is four-time chase winner Family Business, who has claims if he can bounce back again.
