Four two-year-olds it could pay to follow
It has been a good couple of weeks for winners, as Quargent and Dark Rose Angel both built sufficiently on their debuts to win next time out.
Iconic Sunset was another to lose the maiden tag, and anyone who kept faith with week one selection Spoof was rewarded at Chepstow when he popped up at 25-1.
Awesometank met a good one at Lingfield when second, Ferik hit the crossbar for the third consecutive start, while Rebel Streak was third at Newmarket but shaped as though needing to go back on quicker ground.

Istanbul Sultan, Newbury, August 18, 5th
A Derby entry, this colt should appreciate further, and was doing all his best work towards the end of his debut. Ryan Moore was asking the son of Zoffany for an effort with over a furlong left, and Istanbul Sultan did keep responding, closing on the leaders to the line. When facing a mile and beyond he should be capable of better.
Sha La La La Lee, York, August 25, 6th
This maiden should be a good source of winners with several promising efforts including Tom Dascombe's colt. His pedigree is primarily for middle distances, so an extra furlong when he's next seen should be a help. Last towards the top of the straight Sha La La La Lee stayed on steadily through beaten horses and there should be more to come.
Makambe, Windsor, August 26, 4th
This gelded son of Dark Angel has shown steady progression from run to run, and should now make his mark in handicaps. All three starts have been over 6f, but he looked in need of further at Windsor, and his pedigree supports that theory. An opening mark of 67 looks fair and he should be getting closer soon.
Club Tropicana, Yarmouth, Aug 27, 6th
Trainer Richard Spencer thinks this filly will be suited by an extra furlong, and she shaped that way on debut when doing some decent late work. A nice, scopey filly, she should be of interest on her next couple of starts after making her debut in what looked a decent maiden.
Trainer to note
Jeremy Noseda is enjoying a good season with his two-year-olds, and looks to have several exciting types for the rest of this season and beyond.
Quargent is well thought of and built sufficiently on her debut to win at Kempton, while another filly, Zain Hana also impressed on debut at Yarmouth. With eight winners from only 25 two-year-old runners, whatever Noseda sends to the track warrants closer inspection.
