Expect improving handicapper to come on for recent run dropped in trip

Hogan's Height had a really good first season over fences last term, winning three in a row, and while you could argue he was a little below par on his return at Fakenham last month, there are grounds for thinking his 17-length third was a perfectly reasonably run.

For a start, on Racing Post Ratings that was the second-best run of his life as he finished behind a pair of eight-year-olds who were very well handicapped on their best from from 12 months earlier, both of them around 10lb lower than at their peak.
