These two met in what looked one of the hottest Group 2 juvenile events of the season at Newmarket’s July meeting and Boynton got the better of the scrap by three-quarters of a length. However, War Decree was backed as though defeat was out of the question – went off evens favourite – and it is rare the market gets it wrong with runners from Ballydoyle.
