Kapono shaped like a very well-handicapped horse when powering clear over 6f on a slowish Tapeta surface at Newcastle three starts ago and I'm fairly confident fast turf has been his undoing on his last two outings.

He certainly didn't seem to let himself down when third of seven at Haydock three weeks ago, which was a stark contrast to his strong-finishing effort there on soft ground a month earlier over an inadequate 5f.
