Sunday's Punchestown card kicks off with an eight-runner novice hurdle (12.25) in which it is hard to rule out any horse with the exception of the rank outsider. Henry deBromhead sets a problem with his two runners, one of whom is hard to assess on the basis of a visually striking debut. His other runner is one of the stronger candidates but arrives on the back of a fall at Navan only two weeks ago.

On account of it being the first race, Pick Six punters will have a chance to assess how the market is shaping up, which could put a different complexion on things. Lion In His Heart, the more experienced of the DeBromhead pair, and Jessica Harrington's Cork maiden winner Sunni May are put forward with that reservation in mind.
