Don't discount 2,000 Guineas also-rans at the Curragh

No, they are not this week’s winning Lottery numbers, they are the form figures of two of this season’s best three-year-old fillies before they ran clean away with the 1,000 Guineas and the Musidora.

That is surely not how things should be, and I have to say that Aidan O’Brien’s haphazard training strategies these days make it increasingly difficult to have the faintest clue what is going on.

Of course, the master trainer has more than earned a pass and clearly there is method in his madness. However, it really does take some doing to get the Guineas winner to be one from eight as a two-year-old, and the runaway Musidora winner to be one from seven, while being beaten more than ten lengths on her last three starts in the process.
