Saphir Du Rheu fully deserves shot at Gold
Top jockey Sam Twiston-Davies on his Friday runners
He enjoyed the big-field demands of the Fred Winter last year and hopefully they won't have put too much water down over the last couple of days. Diego Du Charmil enjoys good ground and won nicely at Musselburgh last time. The fact that he boasts festival form is a major plus, and I am looking forward to the ride.
I'm more than hopeful of a good run from Saphir Du Rheu, who is in great nick for the big race. His prep race at Kelso went particularly well and it will have done his confidence the power of good. He fully deserves to take his chance.
I have switched from Dodging Bullets to Le Prezien in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual. I won the race last year aboard Solar Impulse who is among the 24 runners again this time and would like to think I have another decent chance aboard Le Prezien. He has been in good form at Ditcheat and should have the race run to suit him.
