David Baxter with his best two-year-old bet at Wolverhampton on Tuesday

Kool Moe Dee
5.30 Wolverhampton
1pt win

A cursory look at the form would suggest Richard Hannon is yet to hit top gear, with a return of one winner from 38 runners from the first week of resumption.

Yet several of the yard's runners performed well, with Cloak Of Spirits finishing second in the 1,000 Guineas, while Ouzo on the same Newmarket card was only denied victory in the last strides.

It's only a matter of time before the stable start firing in winners, and I think Kool Moe Dee might be able to help get the ball rolling.

There was plenty of money around for this colt before his debut at Kempton on Tuesday and he shaped a bit better than his final position of sixth.

He did a little too much early on, and those exertions told in the final furlong when he lost some late places, having been battling for third. Dropping back to five looks a good move if he is as enthusiastic again, and this race does not look as strong as the Kempton race he contested.
