Gordon Elliott's status as the man of the moment in Irish jump racing is well illustrated by the complexion of today's Navan card.

With Willie Mullins continuing to adopt a relatively low-key approach to the evolving season, Elliott outnumbers him ten to two in the three Graded races at the County Meath venue. He supplies five of the seven opponents to the Mullins-trained Shaneshill in the Lismullen Hurdle, three of seven runners in the Fortria Chase, and two of the five in the For Auction Hurdle.

The day's main races are fascinating, if not especially punter-friendly on account of two principal factors, Elliott's multiple representation and a degree of uncertainty about the fitness of key contenders such as Shaneshill and Gavin Cromwell's Grade 1-winning juvenile hurdler Jer's Girl in the Lismullen, and the EndaBolger-trained Gilgamboa in the Fortria.
