Consistent sort can score for shrewd trainer

Like A Demon has been running well since returning from an absence of almost a year and looks like he could get a deserved first victory this afternoon in the 2m handicap hurdle (3.00) at Clonmel.

He bumped into a rapidly progressing sort in Yaha Fizz at Naas last month and that rival went on to bolt up at Navan on his subsequent start.

Indeed, the form got another boost when Camlann, who found Yaha Fizz seven lengths too strong at Navan, went on to win handsomely at Down Royal on Tuesday so the baton is well and truly passed on to Nigel Slevin's charge in this.
