Chepstow Placepot tips: Paul Kealy's perm for Welsh Grand National day

A really competitive card at Chepstow makes it a no-brainer for a Placepot perm, but we'll take a chance by banking on in the opener (12.30).

He's clearly nothing special, but this doesn't look a great maiden hurdle and he is consistent.

In the next (1.05) I can't believe is anywhere near as bad as he looked at Ascot on his return from two very promising wins last season, and he gets another chance. , who won nicely here last time, is included in the hope the cheekpieces work again.

The juvenile hurdle (1.40) is as competitive as it ever has been, although you can't argue with being favourite after his impressive Sandown success.

, who looked game on his racecourse debut for Jane Williams, is the next selection.

In the next (2.10) I'll take a chance and bank again, this time with , who seemed to enjoy going back over hurdles last time and shaped like a stayer too.

The big one (2.50) is obviously hard, but I like my two main selections, and , and will add , who looks as if he will stay forever.

In the last, the top pair of , a winner at Huntingdon on his chase debut, and , who shaped well although last of two at Newbury, are the ones to concentrate on. Both will be happy on this softer ground.
