Chepstow Placepot picks: Tom Segal with three bankers in his perm

As we see every year in the Welsh National, Chepstow is a specialist's track, so it's always worth putting horses in the Placepot who have run well at the course.

Consequently, Sarceaux is one to consider in the Best Odds Guaranteed At Vickers.Bet Everyday Mares' Handicap Hurdle (1.10) as one of her best efforts came in this race last year.

I would include the unexposed Heva Rose in that race too as she is unexposed and comes from the Venetia Williams yard that always does well when the mud is flying.

Do It For Thy Sen is similar to Sarceaux in that he likes Chepstow and, with the Kerry Lee yard going well, he looks likely to bounce back to his best in the Go Racing With Vickers.Bet Handicap Chase (1.40).

Moonlighter is thrown in on old form and has had a wind operation, so he has to go in as well.

The other race which needs more than one in the perm is the Vickers.Bet Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2.10). All six runners can be given a chance but Monbeg Genius looked good at Newcastle last time and won his novice hurdle by 14 lengths at this track.

If the ground goes heavy that might be a concern for him, so it might be worth including another Venetia Williams' runner in Bellatrixsa, who revels in testing conditions.

Ed Keeper and Atlanta Brave stand out in the opening maiden hurdle (12.40) but only one should be enough, while Crebilly looked good on his hurdles debut and should be up to defying a penalty in the novice hurdle (2.40).

Finally, it's rare that Evan Williams leaves a Chepstow meeting without a winner and Prime Pretender looks to have been found a good opportunity in the Cazoo Handicap Chase (3.10).
