County Meath trainer Matthew Smith had a minor triumph at Cork last Sunday when saddling Warnaq to take third place in the Listed Noblesse Stakes. Obtaining black type for a mare who went into the race with an official rating of 88 was quite a feat in view of the strength of the competition.

Smith has prospects of success with Maeve's Choice in the BetVictor Handicap Hurdle. A maiden hurdle winner last season, the Craigsteel gelding boasts a pedigree that pointed to a likely future over fences.
