Reigning Supreme
Winner, 2m4½f novice hurdle, Newbury, Friday, March 24
This lovely son of Presenting had got stuck in the mud when last seen finishing fourth at Leicester and bounced back to form on this better surface. Nicky Henderson’s gelding always travelled comfortably and quickened away from the last. A big chasing type, he is only biding his time over hurdles until his attentions are switched to fences.

Strong Pursuit, who looks like a chaser, was a little blotchy in his coat. He tried to run the finish out of his opponents from the start, but he was a sitting duck as he approached the second-last and it’s to his credit that he kept on galloping all the way to the line. You will also see the best of him next season when he goes chasing.

Coastal Tiep is a good-looking gelding, but his jumping still needs a little work. Placed behind the leader, he was under pressure as he swung into the home straight but found extra to run on in the closing stages.
