Bright prospects for decent sprinter Bahamian Sunrise

James Pyman's ones to note

Skitter Scatter
Trainer: Paddy Prendergast

3rd, Dundalk, March 28
This two-year-old Scat Daddy filly could leave this debut effort well behind next time. Since 2010, in months earlier than June her stable are 1-27 with two-year-olds first time out, versus 4-16 with second-time-out juveniles. Skitter Scatter showed definite signs of ability, keeping on well in the straight when the penny seemed to be dropping, and a similar race looks within her compass.

Deep Intrigue
Mark Johnston

3rd, Bath, March 30
The yard’s healthy 19 per cent strike-rate with two-year-old newcomers in March, April and May (2013+) shows how their debutants are often able to win first time out. However, conceivably the two-year-olds the stable have introduced up to this point this season will improve markedly from their debuts. Their three juvenile newcomers this season were short in the betting and all showed promise but ultimately came up a bit short, with each finishing third. Deep Intrigue was third behind Brocklesby winner Izzer on heavy ground in this novice race and should have a lot more to offer on a quicker surface.

Lexington Place
Ruth Carr
4th, Newcastle, March 30
Returning from a long layoff, this sprinter was patiently ridden in this handicap and with two furlongs remaining seemed to be going just as well as winner Dynamo Walt. The winner was able to improve his position but Lexington Place was momentarily trapped in a pocket, which may well have cost him the length and a quarter that separated the two at the finish. Lexington Place seems in rude health and connections may seek to strike quickly.
