ANTIQUARIUM has been a strong fancy of mine for the Betfred Ebor since he bolted up in the Northumberland Plate, but I must admit I’ve started getting a few jitters this week with the form of the yard a slight worry and the rain most definitely unwelcome.

Charlie Appleby’s four-year-old won at Newcastle far more easily than it appeared at the time as he was held in for the best part of a furlong before getting a run and I’ve no doubt he has genuine Cup-race aspirations – he’s in one on Champions Day at Ascot.

The virus that has been doing the rounds in Newmarket has not affected all yards in the area and while Saeed Bin Suroor has virtually shut up shop with only one runner in August, Appleby’s horses seemed to be running perfectly well until Hawkbill and Endless Time at York this week.
