The St Leger is the only British Classic to elude Jim Bolger. Having won the Oaks way back in 1991 with Jet Ski Lady, he has since added the 1,000 Guineas with Finsceal Beo, the Derby with New Approach and the 2,000 Guineas with Dawn Approach. But never the Leger.

His chances of completing the Classic set wouldn't appear obvious this year either, but he does have one horse in his care who could make an impact at Doncaster and that is 33-1 shot Twilight Payment, a son of his own Teofilo.

He comes from a family well known to Bolger, as on the dam's side he is related to Banimpire, an incredibly tough filly who never won by very far but still managed a Ribblesdale victory and a short-head second in the Irish Oaks.
