Betting editor Keith Melrose assesses the unexposed pair in the Sky Bet Chase

Sell at 0 lengths in a match bet with Burbank
The rights or wrongs of the handicapper's decision to raise Burbank 11lb for his Newbury win last month is largely moot when it comes to match betting in the Sky Bet Chase. He still seems worth taking to come out on top in a match bet with Ravenhill Road.
The case is primarily one of experience and stamina. Burbank has already run over three miles, finishing fourth in a Grade 3 handicap hurdle at Aintree in April. The manner in which he powered home at Newbury last time is a reminder that he is a horse with stamina to burn.
Conversely, Ravenhill Road is stepping up in trip. Admittedly, he looked an improved performer over 2m5½f last time in soft ground. It is also true he did not fail for stamina on his previous try at the trip, but it is slightly worse that that. The vet reported he bled.
The other consideration is the big-field handicap scenario. While Burbank has shown he can handle it, as outlined earlier, Ravenhill Road has not run in a race with ten or more runners since he was in novice hurdles. A high-class handicap could prove something of a culture shock for him.
In some circumstances, it could easily be argued that Ravenhill Road can beat Burbank. He might be the better handicapped, for one. However, with them meeting on these terms there is only one way to go.
