It's rare to be going in to Derby weekend with Aidan O'Brien having won just one of the Classics, but after Romanised's and Alpha Centauri's Irish successes at the weekend the Ballydoyle stranglehold is not a strong as it has been in recent seasons.

Luckily for followers of this column the one Classic O'Brien has won this campaign is the 2,000 Guineas with Saxon Warrior, and the colt has a fantastic chance of following up at Epsom on Saturday to complete our 25-1 double. Should he do so, wouldn't it be great to see him go for the Triple Crown?
