Aintree challenger can step up from good prep run with weights in his favour

Walk In The Mill
1.30 Aintree
Sell at 0 in match bet with Le Breuil

Walk In The Mill has a super record in the Becher Handicap Chase and bids for a unique hat-trick, but he is 8lb higher than when successful last year and 12lb higher than for his first victory.

It’s worth taking him on in this match bet with Le Breuil, who has been trained for the race.

Le Breuil was seventh behind Walk In The Mill in last year’s contest but that was off a career-high mark of 150. He now races off 9lb lower and is 17lb better off with the winner.

Le Breuil is without a win since landing the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham last year and has generally struggled since, but his latest fourth of eight at Kelso in October signalled a return to form. He achieved a Racing Post Rating of 142, his best since that Cheltenham win.

It’s all the more encouraging that he was able to put in such a good performance despite running in snatches after a 226-day absence. He shaped as though he was in need of the outing.

Trainer Ben Pauling made no secret that was a prep run for this contest and Le Breuil has a big chance of beating Walk In The Mill at these weights if he can recapture his best form.
