With a crop of just 55 three-year-olds, bred off €5,000, there was never any guarantee that Le Havre would this season reap the Classic rewards of recent years. Indeed, he was outshone in that department for much of the season by fellow Montfort et Preaux stallion Rajsaman, sire of Poule d'Essai des Poulains and Prix du Jockey Club winner Brametot.

Nonetheless Le Havre has been ticking steadily away in France, with Listed winner Normandel among earners of close to €1.2 million; while an increasing number of international supporters has seen his wider reputation grow immeasurably.
